This polar bear was our favorite exibit! Talk about personality! We probably stood outside his cage and watched him for 45 minutes or so. He was very entertaining. He would take the yellow ball, smoosh it down, bite it, and throw it over the glass. He was literally playing catch with the patrons! It was so funny. Then someone would throw it back in and he would belly flop into the water to catch it.

You can see the ball in the upper right of this picture. He got it stuck up top and was just waiting for someone to climb up there and throw it back down. Of course someone was always willing to play catch, so the bear would just wait patiently.

Ryan got lucky and caught the ball one time it went over the glass. We were surprised at how heavy it was. That bear must have a strong neck to throw this ball over the wall again and again. We like to collect to magnets from our trips for souvenirs, so we picked up a polar bear magnet on our way out of the zoo! It was fun!

Cute Kaycie!

Well, our original plan was to spend 1/2 day at the zoo, and the other half in downtown Munich. We spent so much time at the zoo, that we will have to explore Munich another time. This was my view of Munich on the way home. Typical when traveling with 5 kids! Oh-well...

What are these animals called again? Oh yea, KIDS!

I always like the giraffes.

Close up of the orangatang. (spelling?)

I had to stop at the crepe stand. My delicious crepe cooking!

Lion display.
Ryan on the camel. I was wishing I could have a ride. We tried to talk Chase into it, but he refused.

Courtney had a great time!

Looks like a tight squeeze.

The kids had a great time at the zoo. We couldn't get them out of there! After about 6+ hours of walking around, I think we saw about everything.....except the bats, which we missed because the exhibit closed early.

The elephants are always impressive.

The turtles were cool.

Ryan riding a camel for 2 euro. Not too bad of a price. Short ride, but cheaper than going to Egypt. (although we hope to get there before we leave)

"Mr. Liz" on the lookout for lizards. Chase was in his element looking at all of the reptiles.

WOW! You got to get so close to the animals! We recently went to the LA Zoo and we didn't get anywhere that close and the animals were all hot and sleepy. Maybe because it's cool in Germany the animals are happier.
Looks like fun. Who knew camel humps were so big? They're almost as big as your kids! Can't wait to hook up with you guys.
I jumped to your blog from Debbie's. All of your pictures and adventures are making me so sad that we are stuck in Del Rio, TX. Man I miss Italy!!! Hope you guys are doing well!
